Port St. Lucie Health (“we,” “us”) runs www.porstluciehealth.com, a free local directory of health, medical and wellness providers in the Port St. Lucie, Florida area. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- You can browse and search the directory without creating an account or telling us who you are.
- We only collect personal information you choose to send us through a form.
- If you use “Near me,” your location is used for that search only. We don’t store it.
- We don’t sell your personal information.
- We are a directory, not a health care provider. Please don’t send us medical details.
Information you give us
- Appointment requests. On some listings you can send a request to the provider. We collect your name, email, optional phone number and message, and forward them to that provider. We keep a copy so we can confirm delivery and handle problems.
- Newsletter. Your email address and, if you provide it, your ZIP code.
- Business forms. When you add, claim or advertise a business, or contact us, we collect your name, email, phone number, business details and your message.
Please don’t include diagnoses, symptoms, medications or other health information in any form. We are not a health care provider or a HIPAA “covered entity,” and our forms aren’t designed for medical information.
Information collected automatically
- Directory activity. We count how many times each listing is viewed and how often people tap Call, Website, Directions or Book. These are daily totals per listing. They are not tied to you, and we share them with businesses only as totals.
- Location for “Near me.” If you allow it, your browser shares your approximate location so we can sort results by distance. We round it (to about 100 meters), use it for that search, and don’t save it. You can use a ZIP code instead, or decline.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting.
How we use information
- To forward your appointment request to the provider you chose.
- To send the newsletter you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe option.
- To review, verify, and publish business listings, and to respond to your messages.
- To keep the site working, secure and free of spam.
- To understand what’s useful, and to show businesses how their listing performs (totals only).
When we share information
- With the provider you contact. Your appointment request goes to that business. Once they receive it, their own privacy practices apply.
- With service providers who help us run the site (such as web hosting, email delivery, analytics and payment processing for business plans). They may use it only to provide those services.
- For legal reasons, if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Cookies
The public directory does not need cookies to work. Cookies may be set by Google Analytics or advertising (if enabled, as described above), and a login cookie is used for site administrators. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
How long we keep information
We keep appointment requests and business messages for up to 24 months, and newsletter emails until you unsubscribe. Directory activity totals contain no personal information and may be kept longer.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email.
- Ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information you sent us by emailing hello@example.com.
- Business owners can update or remove their listing by contacting us.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we limit access to submitted information. No website can guarantee complete security, so please don’t send sensitive information through our forms.
Links to other websites
Listings link to provider websites, maps and booking pages that we don’t control. Their privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
